Wool Fight
for Sonia

I own the light
which comes into my house
when the sun comes up

my own light
so much, so bright, in August
in summer, in the morning

mine to let in or to close out
free to open my blinds
or to screw them shut

my life, my right to decide
how much to let in,
how much to shut out

each day,
from
ninety-three million miles away
enters raging
like a big black bull
