Lethargic Flags

culture wider, deeper
than many suggest, suppose

too lazy, too shallow
to launch into the deep

too many stick to the shores
to what's sure, until even then,
even there, they're gripped by,
shaken by uncertainties

not knowing where to run
grab a gun shoot someone
as if there were not at least
an alphabet of options
