for Julie-Andree Knowles
how with possession,
we spoil beauty, with handling,
with hands, with ownership
shipwreck on their shores,
our boats all boards,
on rocks crack up
but this is but half the story
intact and unassailable,
something keeps, lasts
a face
which only beauty touches,
caresses
a face inviting kisses
to cover it
