On My Nerve

like a hundred million
annoying mosquitoes, rolled into one
buzzing round your ear
when you are craving tranquility,
peace, sleep
when vehicles with their noises
pull up, go by
go through your head
go through your life
like a mad dentist,
drilling through nerves
