for Grissel Gómez Estrada
into your Spanish ear,
my English tongue,
do I tickle, do I turn you on
mosquitoes upon us, after our blood
with a slap, we crush them
spite them and ourselves
blood for blood, our blood for our blood
my tongue in your ear
like a dog licking a thing it likes
from the tiniest container
however it overturns or rolls about
getting what’s in it out
