Soda Crate Seat
for N.B.

want to get to the bottom of you
though I know you’ve said I do
I can if you’d let me

want to remove the lid,
reach down into the dark,
rake up
whatever chick feed’s left
in the barrel
customer with hungry chicken to satisfy

or should I, from chick feed
make grits, eat it,
let the chickens
dig worms in the mud
in the morning
