Making Alphabet Soup

this language is not my own

though it’s not my own
I am its mechanic

not at all unlike an auto mechanic
and people bring their cars
to him to fix

or like a doctor
who knows more about our bodies
than we who live in them

and we take ourselves, our bodies
to physicians
when we are sick
