Affair With Life

erection I have for you,
I’ll write poems with

a poet has to handle his own pen
I have emotions to spend

not the stuff to waste
I usually eat all upon my plate

I usually lick the platter clean

fat and lean for Jack Sprat
no wife to help him out,
to help him up

his ups and downs
his own affair
