Ghetto Sonata
for P.C.

big fight,
it’s just another day in Paradise

it’s business as usual
in our cesspool of life

Kemp Road rocks and rocks fly
when water boils, steam flies

arms flying, women arguing, name calling
up in every body part, insulting, sullying
women fighting, rocks flying

cuss words not enough to break bones,
armed with sticks and stones

these flung, these flew

big fight,
it’s just another day in Paradise

it’s business as usual
in our cesspool of life

Absolutely amazing. I can hear the music of this poem. I reflect on the music I heard when I wrote "Honey Please".

I love the sarcasm, the closeness and the conflict of this poem. How such mess can create such ordered perfection. It is a needed record of Kemp Road to add to the history of art and of The Bahamas.
