Throw Away Life

have these children,
these neighbors of mine
not got books to read

without end throwing
one thing or another
in my yard or
up against my house

in no time at all
who is small and stupid
can become BIG and stupid

don’t they want to
guard against that,
militate against it

entire nation, entire world
needs to be desperate
about having steps to make

what next to take
what necks to take
