late in the evening or late afternoon
lady in the prime of life
is not yet past noon

someone wonderful come along
to save the day, to restore faith
in humankind, in Earth

planet I dropped down on
or fell upon, as lost as Columbus

invites me to believe, to live,
to love again

how sweet the smell of falling rain
how calming the sound

as wonderful a phenomenon
another wonder of the world
