Sandwiches Uprising

what if or what of when or what of a sandwich
which bites back

tired of being attacked, of being eaten up
without an ounce of resistance, without a growl

as silent always as lambs being slaughtered
decided to rise up out of docility to do battle
and bite back

every time they are bitten, bite out as much
as is bitten from them, cause as much pain
traumatize as much as they are traumatized

what of some sandwiches winning some battles

what if sandwiches declared war
and some of them ate completely some children,
some adults intending to, attempting to eat them

expecting to do away with a sandwich without a struggle
only to find themselves in battle
with what they thought was helpless

instead calling out for assistance, “Help!”
call the police, Defense Force, call the fire engine,
the army

sandwiches declare war and winning the battle
CNN without end with cases to report
