Ladies to Defend
for M.M.S

other men’s wives no wife of my own
unable to support one unable to afford one

wife someone else is taking care of to admire
to wish to devour

I’m able to think of three on my heart on my mind

pretty pretty Danielle, Debbie, kind and sweet
another, very lovely, works at St. Margaret’s rectory

what a thrill it is whenever wherever I see her

casuarinas on Saunders Beach being cut down
make me so angry, cause me to recall

my first poem of her set upon this beach
I in my truck, scene I dreamed up

waiting for her, parked between trees
just stumps now, sawn down, sawn up
